(Guest post by Sheamus McGovern of ODSC)
R will feature prominently at this year’s Open Data Science conference (ODSC East) in Boston from May 20th to 22nd.
We have a strong lineup of workshops and talks from some of the top contributors in the R community. Joe Cheng, the creator of Shiny and CTO of RStudio will present the very popular Shiny framework. JJ Aliare, the CEO of RStudio’s will also be speaking. Other R speakers of note are Max Kuhn, the prolific author of no less than six R packages, including the caret package; Jared Lander, R contributor and author of the book R for Everyone; and Ted Kwartler, who will give a workshop in text mining in R.
ODSC gives you the chance to meet some of the smartest people in the R community and connect with them in person. Also, if you use R you’re probably a data wrangler or data scientist. ODSC has a terrific lineup of training and workshops in topics such as predictive analytics, machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence. Overall the conference features 30+ workshops,12 Half-day tutorials and 80+ presentations on the open source languages, tools, and topics around data science. Presenting these talks and workshops are some of the world’s top data scientists, including Kirk Bourne, Principal Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton; Owen Zhang, top-ranked Kaggle Data Scientist; Michael Schmidt, CEO of Nutonian; and Andreas Mueller of scikit-Learn fame. We also have some of the top minds from companies and project such as IBM’s Watson, Google’s Tensorflow, Amazon Robotics, Microsoft and many others.
Two additional reasons to attend ODSC are it’s networking events and career fair. Socialize with your peers and meet some of the best and brightest in your field. At the career fair, some of the top data companies globally will be searching for talent. Lastly an ODSC ticket gets you access to six related and co-located conference under the same roof, including the data visualization conference, the disruptive data science conference, and the big data science conference.
You can use the code ODSC-RBLG to get an 10% off for this three-day conference before ticket prices go up on March. Hope to see you at #ODSC.
