Recently ICC awards 2010 were announced and I began wondering how the process works. I haven’t seen any good documentation of the process, so I started thinking how would I do it. Here’s my version. Note: I is impossible to determine this by number crunching only as there are many factors that are not qualitative e.g. on and off-field behavior etc.
Okay, so lets test it. Lets walk thru this process to determine the best One Day Cricketer for 2010.
1) PERFORMANCE SCAN
Using my batting, bowling and all rounder comparison chart, I quickly identify the best performers in each role.
Top batsmen between Aug 2009 – Aug 2010
- TM Dilshan
- AB de Villiers
- SR Tendulkar
- HM Amla
Top bowlers between Aug 2009 – Aug 2010
- RJ Harris
- SCJ Broad
- DE Bollinger
- MG Johnson
- SR Watson
