Discount for the Open Data Science conference (@Boston / May 30th)

This year’s Open Data Science conference takes place in Boston on May 30th and 31st at the Boston Convention Center. The conference features over 21 workshops and 72 presentations on the open source languages, tools, and topics around data science. R features prominently.

The conference gives you the chance to hear from R contributors directly and meet them in person.  Our speaker lineup includes Max Kuhn, the prolific author of no less than six R packages, including the caret package; and Jared Lander, R contributor and author of R for Everyone. Some specific R presentations include, “The Caret Package – Classification and Regression Training” (Max Kuhn), “Graphs R Cool” (Nicole White), and  “Sports Analytics in R” (Matthew Wills).

Other notable presenters include Wes McKinny, the creator of the popular Pandas library; and Andy Terrel, who contributes to numerous open source projects including Ignition, the FEniCS Project and Sympy. Anna Herlihy is a contributor to PyMongo and Monary, while Peter Prettenhofer is a contributor to the ubiquitous scikit-learn project. Owen Zhan is the number one ranked Kaggle data scientist and Chief Product Officer at Data Robot. Josh Wills is the Director of Data Science at Cloudera and Allen Downey is the author of Think Bayes and Think Stats.

It’s a great line-up of speakers and presentations. You can use the code RBLG-ODSC to get 5% off already great value early registration tickets.  Hope to see you at #ODSC.
