Heads-up to anyone attending the sold-out Data Science Summit in Las Vegas this week: I'll be there tomorrow and Thursday for the conference and to discuss R on the panel discussion “Data Science Toolset – Recipes That Win” (more details about the panel discussion below.) I'm looking forward to meeting with the other R users there — tweet or email me if you'd like to meet up.

Data Scientist Summit 2011: Data Science Toolset – Recipes That Win

WHEN: 11:15 AM PDT, May 12
WHERE: The Venetian, Las Vegas

Data science is an emerging field with a tremendous horizontal application. Organizations from a diverse range of industries that includes entertainment, life sciences, government and financial services employ data scientists to analyze their data with languages like R to help them make better business decisions.

David Smith, Vice President of Community for Revolution Analytics, will join a panel of analytics experts from Cloudscale, Zementis, Informatica and SAS to discuss the tools of choice for today’s data scientist. The panel, part of EMC’s Data Science Summit, will explore a number of themes central to data science, including agility in analytics, challenges posed by “big data” and convergences between different data science tools.

Registration for the Data Science Summit is sold out. Interested individuals can register for the wait list here.
