useR!2011 ended yesterday. First of all, much thanks to the organizers who managed to run a conference with 400+ participants, from 41 countries smoothly. Thumbs up! Want to share your content on R-bloggers? click here if you have a blog, or here if you don't.
It was great to meat some people from the R blog-O-sphere in person, like Tal “R-bloggers.com” Galili (who sort of sits at the center of the sphere) and Richard “4D piecharts” Cotton. It is also striking to see how R is spreading over different fields: from computational physics, to knot theory, from complex function theory to social statistics, from portfolio management to biostatistics and much more. It’s probably one of the reasons why the number of R packages still grows exponentially.
One of my personal highlights: Andrew Runall, explaining how unions in C are saucy during his talk about CXXR :).
