This year’s useR! conference will be held as an online event, designed to be global and give space to the amazing ecosystem that is the R Practitioners Community.
The program is very interesting and inclusive, taking place almost 24 hours each day and allowing talks in languages other than english (with english subtitles). Of course we will be present at the conference with multiple contributions topics and formats.
Following the program schedule, these are Mirai’s contributions:

On Tuesday July 6th, during the Elevator Pitches 2 (1:00pm – 2:30pm UTC), Peter will present “Continuously expanding Techguides: An open source project based on bookdown using CI/CD pipelines from GitHub Actions”, a quick glimpse into how we make use of CI / CD pipelines from GitHub Actions to automatically render and deploy our open source collection of technical guidelines.

On the same day, Francesca will be moderating the Panel Discussion “R User or R Developer? This is the question!” to elaborate on the diverse understanding of the “R User” and “R Developer” roles and on the skill-set required by the job market. The panel will take place at 4:00pm – 5:00pm UTC and will feature 5 prominent panelists from both the academic and the industry perspective, as well as questions from the audience. Results of our survey will also be presented during the panel.

Finally, on Friday July 9th at 8:40pm – 9:00pm UTC, as part of the session “9B Community and Outreach 2”, Riccardo will give a live regular talk titled “CovidR and rmdgallery: A streamlined process for collecting community contributions in a gallery website”, about the experience of developing a package and a process through issues and pull requests on GitHub to collect the community contributions to the CovidR Contest, an eRum2020 pre-conference event that Riccardo and Francesca helped designing and co-organizing.
