Behind the 2010 “Flash Crash”. On May 6, 2010, at 2:45 PM, the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted approximately 900 points and rebounded within a matter of minutes. Yale researchers Michael Kane, PhD and Casey King analyzed roughly 24 billion trades from 2008-2010 to evaluate the efficacy of the FINRA rules implemented after the event. In a free webcast on Thursday September 29, they will describe how they used Revolution R Enterprise and Netezza to draw their conclusions. This webcast is for statisticians, analysts and IT teams responsible for Big Data Analytics who are looking for ways to achieve greater innovation and leapfrog current performance. Register now.

Revolution Analytics at useR! 2011. Last month's worldwide R user conference at Warwick University was a great success, and the Revolution Analytics team is proud to have been a part of it. Revolution Analytics is currently enrolling participants in a beta of an enhanced RevoScaleR package that provides new tools for parallel and distributed computing with R. We will also begin a beta program for RevoDeployR 2.0 in October and we're inviting participants now. If you are looking for a straightforward way to integrate R scripts with third-party applications and BI tools, the RevoDeployR web services framework can simplify your life. All these new features will be part of the forthcoming Revolution R Enterprise 5.0 release. If you'd like to participate in either beta program, contact us at [email protected] to get started.
