Keynotes announced for EARL 2016

We are pleased to announce our two keynote speakers this year at EARL (Effective Application of the R Language) Conference from 13th-15th September.

The keynotes will be presenting on the morning of Wednesday 14th September.

Kenneth Cukier

KCukier

Kenneth Cukier is the Data Editor of The Economist. From 2007 to 2012 he was the Japan business and finance correspondent, and before that, the paper’s global technology correspondent based in London, where his work focused on innovation, intellectual property and Internet governance. Previously, he was the technology editor of The Asian Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong and a regular commentator on CNBC Asia. Earlier still, he was the European Editor of Red Herring and worked at The International Herald Tribune in Paris.

Garrett Grolemund

Garrett Grolemund is RStudio’s Master Instructor and the Editor-in-Chief of the Shiny Development Center at shiny.rstudio.com. He is also the author of R’s popular lubridate package. A statistician by training, Garrett designs webinars, workshops, and other learning material to help statisticians use the open source R language. You may recognize Garrett from his video courses for Datacamp.com and O’Reilly media, for his books Hands-On Programming with R and R for Data Science, or for his series of popular R cheat sheets distributed by RStudio.

Call for Abstracts

We are currently calling for abstracts for the conference; If you have a story around using R commercially or in a business context please submit the details here.  All presenters will receive a free conference ticket for the day of their presentation plus free entry to both conference evening networking events.

Early Bird Tickets 

EARLY BIRD full conference tickets are now available. These include access to both conference days, both conference evening networking events and two pre-conference workshops.
