Last year, I was extremely happy to see the great success of the R community — dominating the Budapest BI Forum 2014 with 8 talks and 2 workshops on introductory and some hard-core R topics:

So the Open Analytics Day ended up having around half of the talks (in two parallel sessions) focusing on R! Personally, I really enjoyed to see many of the BI guys in suits showing an honest interest in the power and features of R. This was an awesome way of promoting open-source tools to businesses as well.

This year, the Budapest BI Forum 2015 will be held between 13 and 15 October in Hungary, and I hope to see many R users there to learn or speak about some Open Analytics and Business Intelligence topics.

The Call for Papers is open until the end of the month, please submit your proposal today — so that you can inspire others by presenting some of your R-powered analytics use cases and get a free conference ticket with optional travel subsidy as well 🙂
