We’re excited to announce the start of our Intro to Data Science with R two-day corporate training session, held Nov. 6-7 in New York City! Please visit nycdatascience.com for details on the location, time, and course syllabus.
The application of R in industries from banking to telecommunications is by now well-known, with Bank of America famously bolstering (if not replacing) much of its Excel workflow with R-based analytics. The reason is pretty simple: once the data reaches a certain size or complexity, many necessary models (credit risk, consumer segmentation, travel monitoring, etc.) cannot be implemented without a programming language like R. And once you get comfortable with the essentials of working with data in R, applying many of these models which have pre-configured packages for easy implementation in R will be a breeze. Our goal is to provide those essentials, so you can take your data wherever it needs to go!
When it comes to power and flexibility in generating statistical models and visualizations, there is no tool more advanced than R. Whether you’re trying to scale up your data analysis to more cutting-edge techniques, or you have a simpler modeling challenge but the size and complexity of data structures you need to work with has you hitting a wall, R is one tool that will continue to pay dividends in meeting these challenges. Just take one look at the available analytics packages in R and you’ll see where the value is.
What will you get out of this particular course?
Upon finishing this course, you will be comfortable importing and manipulating data in R, automating procedures for repeated use, constructing and testing essential statistical models, and generating powerful visualizations of your data.
