At LatinR 2019 I attended a very nice tutorial taught by Dr. Hadley Wickham about package development and I decided to create a tailored image to follow the course. Please find the update at https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/rstudio-pkgdev.

With the server running you’ll only need to clone your repositories and start with real-life package development and testing.

Here’s a video for a similar image where I go from zero to variable importance in H2O. It includes creating the server, ssh login, creating a user, opening RStudio Server, cloning a repository to then fit a model in just 06:08. No install.packages() required.
