R Live Class – R for Beginners

May 3-4, Legnano (Milan)

 

This course will introduce you to R as an efficient tool for data manipulation, visualization and analysis. You will learn some basics, as how to install R and R-studio and manage its packages, and what are the main R objects. Then you will learn how to use R, with an overview on tools for data import, data manipulation, data visualization and data analysis.

Course organization

The first day of this course will introduces you to the R environment.
First, you will learn how to install and manage R, R-studio and R packages and how to efficiently navigate among the wide variety of online R resources.
The introductory part will be followed by an exhaustive exploration of the various types of R objects.
The first day will close with data import and export techniques.

The second day is a gentle introduction to the three main assets of data science: Data Manipulation, Data Visualization and Data Modelling. We will use the most modern packages for this purpose: dplyr for data handling, and ggplot for plotting and graphics.

Should I take this course?

This course is suitable for people with either no or very little knowledge of R. Just bring your laptop and we will do the rest.

The cost includes lunch, comprehensive course materials + 1 hour of individual online post course support for each student within 30 days from course date.

A laptop with the latest version of R and R-Studio.

Who will I learn from?

Andrea Spanò is an Rstudio certificated instructor who has worked as an R trainer and consultant for over 20 years. Andrea graduated in Statistics from the University of Siena and obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics at the University College of London. He runs Quantide consulting firm and teaches at Luiss University post grad course on Big Data Management

What language is the course taught?

This course is taught in italian. Course material in English language

How can I reach your place?

Legnano is about 30 min by train from Milano. Trains from Milano to Legnano are scheduled every 30 minutes, and Quantide premises are 3  walking minutes from Legnano train station.
